Can AI handle my inbox?Triage, drafts, and a polite step-back.

Short answer: it triages all day, drafts most replies well, and steps back the moment something has your name on it. The longer answer is where the actual workflow gets wired.

The honest version is that “handling an inbox” means three very different jobs stitched together — sorting what arrives, drafting a reply, and sending it. Each one sits in a different place on the trust scale, and a Spokedraft install is honest about which bits we hand to a model and which we hand back to you.

Triage

Sorting what lands is the easy win.

Every morning between six and seven your inbox is bucketed into suppliers, customers, the ATO, staff, and anything else. The easy stuff — an invoice from a regular supplier, a booking confirmation, a council reminder — files itself into the right folder with a short summary line. You open one screen instead of forty. This is the part we install for almost every customer — it’s boring, it’s reliable, and it pays its way in the first fortnight.

Drafts

Drafting is the bit that earns its keep.

The model reads the thread, drafts a reply in your tone, and parks it in a Drafts folder with the original message next to it. You read it on the train, fix two lines, hit send. Most customers tell us the reply is right roughly eight times out of ten — the other two it gets the tone a bit off and you rewrite it anyway, which is still faster than starting from a blank window. The cost framing lives on /pricing — inbox triage plus drafts usually lands in the lower band.

Step-back

The line we politely defend.

Anything going out under your name without your eyes on it is the line we won’t cross on your behalf — legal letters, complaints, refund offers, anything to the ATO, anything to a staff member. Those drafts stay in your Drafts, marked in red, waiting for a real human to press send. We’d rather hand back ten drafts than send one that bites back three months later.
